MSA, also known as SDS (Shy Drager Syndrome) was discovered in the year 1962 by Dr. Milton Shy and Dr. Glen Drager and therefore named after these twos. In their discovery, they observed two male patients, who have common clinical symptoms i.e., both of them were sexually impotent & developed bladder problem. Within few months doctors received complaint of dizziness from both the patients. Later on their problem became worse and they developed urinary and rectal incontinence, slowness of movement, slurring of speech, mild tremors and other Parkinsonian symptoms.
MSA disease is a neurological disease occurs due to degeneration of certain nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
