Know about Shy Drager Syndrome & its Symptoms
Shy Drager Syndrome also known as Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a neurological disease which is said to be a progressive disorder. It is named after two physicians- Dr. Milton Shy & Dr. Glen Drager who observed a combination of movement disorders in two patients. This results in degeneration of central nervous system cells including brain & spinal cord. When patient stands up, an excessive drop in blood pressure is observed which is known as Multiple System Atrophy with postural hypotension. Results of this hypotension are-dizziness, weakness, fatigue, fainting etc.
