History of Multiple System Atrophy
In 1962, Dr. Milton Shy and Dr. Glen Drag introduced MSA or Multiple System Atrophy which is formerly known as SDS (Shy-Drager Syndrome), where the term Shy-Drager Syndrome was named after these two doctors i.e., Dr. Shy and Dr. Drag. In their observation of two male patients they come to know that both of them share some common symptoms like, they developed bladder problems and also became sexually impotent.
Later on, they grow some urinary problems and felt dizziness while rising from the condition of sitting or lying positions, slowness of movement, slurring of speech, Parkinson symptoms etc.
The MSA disease is a neurological disease which occurs because of degeneration of some nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Also the areas perform abnormally which is controlled by these body functions.
